One pan beef veggie hash

Easy Healthy One Pan Beef Veggie Hash

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 tbsps

  • Avocado Oil

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (ideally 100% grass-fed and organic)

  • 2 cups green beans, chopped into bite-size pieces

  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)

  • 1 sweet onion (chopped)

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 4 cups cabbage Slaw

  • 3 stalks green Onion (chopped for topping)

  • 1 tbsp Chinese Five Spice

  • 1 tsp sea Salt

  • 2 tbsps coconut aminos

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ln a large skillet over medium high heat and add 1/2-1 Tbsp oil. Add the ground meat and sauté for about 7-10 minutes until browned, breaking the meat up into small pieces as it cooks.

  • Add about 1/2 of the Chinese five spice seasoning and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. If using ground beef (higher fat meat) you won’t need as much oil as lean chicken or turkey.

  • Remove the cooked beef from the pan and cover so that the meat stays warm.

  • Add another 1/2-1 Tbsp of oil to the pan and over medium-high heat add the chopped onion and cook for a few minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another couple of minutes, ensuring the garlic doesn't burn. If you're using beef or pork you won't need to add as much oil to the pan.

  • Add the slaw and green beans to the pan and stir to combine. The pan will be very full; however, the slaw will cook down quite a bit in just a few minutes. After about 5 minutes you can add the mushrooms and the rest of the Chinese Five Spice coconut aminos and stir to combine.

  • Once the veggies are cooked to your liking (maybe 5-8 minutes), add the cooked meat back into the pan with the veggies and stir until well combined. Top with additional coconut aminos and salt, if desired.

  • Top with green onions, sesame seeds and hot sauce, if desired. Enjoy!

NOTES:

Topping ideas:

  • A clean hot sauce (no sugar, vegetable oil, artificial ingredients etc). I like the Sky Valley Brand. Green onions and sesame seeds are great toppings as well.

Don't eat beef?

  • Use any ground meat such as turkey, chicken or pork. You could skip the meat all together and substitute lentils or beans.
